Week 2's Self Assessment

WOW! That self assessment was quite eye-opening. Basically, I'm an insecure introvert that who is emotionally poor. I would say it's pretty accurate. So my emotional intelligence is poor. Hmmmmmm....I don't know if that's something I should be concerned about or not?

I realize that my emotions aren't all-that "normal". So, maybe I should take a step back and get a firm grip on what the issues are and deal with them head-on, one at a time.

I find your comments and your ability to make fun of yourself quite refreshing. Haaaa! For this reason I wouldn't describe you as emotionally poor. What a harsh assessment of one's self. Although there is some validity to assessement tests I would take the findings with a grain of salt. I would put findings from a assessment test in the same category with grades, they are not alwyas a true reflection of ones intelligence rather they are an "assessment" of the work one has produced.
How long have you been overseas?

I've been overseas for almost a year now (Sept.) However, for my first 4 years in the Navy, I was stationed overseas both in Japan and Bahrain...yes, this is my second time in Bahrain.

I love being overseas. However, I do prefer Japan to any other place I've visited.

I recommend EVERYBODY live overseas for at least a year and see what the world has to offer. There are people out there that want to learn english...why not be the one who teaches them?

Hi Tony,

Good for you that you took the assessment and possibly discovered some areas where you can develop yourself. I agree with Kristina that you should not be hard on yourself and, also, do take the assessment score for what it's worth. Albeit it's a validated assessment, there is always room for interpretation.

I really appreciate your self-exploration and discovery!
