Getting in Shape...

So, is it harder to get in shape or stay in shape? I think it's harder to get in shape. This is because as soon as you get where you want to be, you understand what it took to get there and to back and do it all over again would be silly.

They say that eating what tastes good is exactly what you should avoid when trying to get in shape. I say, that really sucks, but it works!

I don't know if I agree with you. I find it harder to stay in shape.
Getting in shape is hard because when I start to work out I feel my body struggling and I know I have to keep pushing it. Once I meet my goal and I start seeing results I start slacking on the work outs and start eating differently. Then I have a whole other battle because I have to find something that will give me the same results but just as much of a challenge, maybe that’s why I HATE going to the gym. I prefer to do outdoor activities like play soccer, basketball, go swimming, and do kick-boxing or any competitive activities.

As for eating I don’t think it's hard to stay away from bad food at all. I don’t want to eat anything fattening or high in calories. My motivations are those darn machines at the gym. While at the gym I look down and see the machine it reads 50 calories and that's after 30 minutes of cardio work out (lol I'm exaggerating a lil bit) so when I am picking what I want to eat I look at the nutrition value. I see that what I wan to eat is 200 calories and I ask myself is it worth it? Probably not and just find something else that is much healthier and lower in calories.

In the end I think we just have to accept that we have to change our lifestyle and eating habits to get long lasting results that we want. I eat what we want to eat but just have smaller portions. I LOVE CHOCOLATE, my only curse is that I have major sweet tooth and like to have something sweet after every meal. My guy roommate hates living with two girls when it comes to the food we have in the house. Everything in the house is low-fat or non-fat; sugar free, or whole grain and nothing gets fried in this house plus we only cook with olive oil. I have to admit it takes some time to adjust but in the end we know that we don’t have to kill ourselves in the gym every night. It's all about healthier choices.
